This season is a festive one at both The Peninsula and Norgarden. “Winter Wonder Lane” is being constructed at Norgarden and the official light-up will be December 01. Come on over (or outside!) to view the delightful sight. It starts at 6:45PM and hot chocolate and cookies will be served.
That same night we will be decorating our tree at the Mary Windspear Centre for The WinspearFestival of Trees.
On the 6th the tree trimming party starts at 7PM at The Peninsula with live music, hot apple cider served along with ornaments to be hung on the tree. The tree trimming party will happen on the 7th (at 7PM) at Norgarden.
Kathleen has lined up many many additional festive activities this season (as she always does!). Happenings at The Peninsula: On the 12th, “The Young and The Restless” (a group of our residents and a group of kindergarten children who come to visit us), will be singing Christmas carols. On the 13th our very own Melody Makers will be performing Christmas carols along with our residents. Our very own Don Grimwood has returned to grace us and on the 14th will be tickling the ivories in the fireside lounge.
In both buildings: Breakfast with Santa happens on the 18th, there are two Christmas light tours, one on the 19th and one on the 22nd. Movies are offered on the 24th and the 25th, and Christmas dinner is served at noon on the 25th, so staff may have time to spend with their own families.
As we remove the Christmas decorations, we march on into the New Year on the 31st with a special dinner, and a champagne toast. It has been a very full and busy year at Norgarden Estates, and we feel blessed to be a part of so many lives.
Merry Christmas to all of you.
