September: Eyes Turn Inward When the Year of Gardening is Done
“But now in September the garden has cooled, and with it my possessiveness. The sun warms my back instead of beating on my head … The harvest has dwindled, and I have grown apart from the intense midsummer relationship that brought it on.” – Robert Finch
This month we are starting a workshop series called “Conscious Aging Workshop”, it will run for 8 consecutive sessions. The workshop will explore aging from a very different perspective. It is designed to be informative, engaging and life-enhancing. The facilitator will be Jan Burke, our concierge. Jan has quite a background, and I encourage you to read all about her in the newsletter.
The first session will be Sunday September 24th and will be an introduction to the remaining 7 workshops.
On the 14th, come down in your best country and western gear and enjoy a meal hot off the BBQ and entertainment by Tom Gough.
On the 22nd the Gentleman’s Club will head to Brentwood Bay to enjoy a meal at Café Zanzibar, while the Lady’s club J.O.Y. will have a lovely meal on the waterfront at Haro’s on the 29th.
Please see below for more of the activities offered this month. To enlarge the calendar, click on it once, then a second time and it will open in a new window.
