November – Edie DaPonte Live!

Victoria’s own Edie DaPonte and Joey Smith will be performing at Norgarden on November 24th at 2pm. This will be a very popular performance, so come down early to get a good seat. “Edie’s sultry Latin voice pairs perfectly with a chewy cabernet or a sassy sparkling…. one of Victoria’s most talented jazz artists.”

November 11th is Remembrance Day. Each year the sacrifice and memory of our men and woman who fought for us is remembered by a somber march of the members of our Armed Forces. The Parade of Veterans starts at 10:30 at the Mary Winspear Centre and ends at the Cenotaph at City Hall, followed by two minutes of silence and the laying of the wreath.

On the 21st the Norgarden Residents will be gathering for a potluck luncheon at 12 in the dining room. Sign up at the front desk and let us know what you will be bringing! This is a great opportunity to mix and mingle and show off your cooking skills, or your shopping skills!

On November 7th, a medical shoe company called Sweet Soles Mobile Medical Shoe Company will be at The Peninsula at 2pm. These folks sell shoes that you cannot purchase in a regular shoe store. If you have issues with your feet or shoes that just don’t fit, come on over to The Peninsula to see what they recommend for you.

On November 6th at 2pm, at The Peninsula, resident Eugene Sonmor will demonstrate his carving skills, honed over a lifetime of carving. Come see the demonstration and some of his carvings.

Outings:

The ladies JOY will be going to the Spitfire Grill on the 22nd at 11, and the Gents will be heading to Beacon Landing on the 15th. Sign up at the front desk for these popular outings.

Special Dinners:

The 28th of November is Pub Night! Come on down for a complementary pub themed cocktails brewed up by our inhouse bartender at 5 with dinner served at 5:30.
