February: Silence and Regeneration
February seems like the quietest month of the year. Plants are germinating, humans are ruminating, and the weather is unpredictable. What is predictable though is Kathleen’s line-up of activities.
This year, in the Chinese lunar Calendar, is the Year of the Pig, if you were born in 1923 Feb.16,1923 to Feb.4,1924, or in 1935 Feb.4,1935 to Jan.23,1936 or in 1947 Jan.22, 1947 to Feb.9,1948, this is your “zodiac sign”. The year of the pig is associated to kindness and wealth. No matter your sign, join us in the dining room on the 5th at 5pm for a complementary drink and appies. A traditional Chinese themed dinner will be served at 5:30.
This month the ladies J.O.Y. group is going to the Roost Farm Bakery on February 8th at 11am. Locally owned and operated, they grow much of the food you will enjoy, mill their own flour, and make their own wines.
The Gentlemen are going to head back to Canoe Cove Joe’s for their repast on February 15th at 11:30am.
Did you know that every Monday we offer a complementary glass of Sherry or wine? Sherry night starts at 5pm. It is a great way to meet the residents and to socialize. So come on down this Monday!
Valentines day dinner will be on the 14th (of course!), appies and a complementary drink will be served at 5 and dinner at 5:30. If you have someone joining you for dinner, the cut off day for the reservation is the 7th. The cost for your guest is $29.95 plus GST (31.45).
