January: Starting Anew, Again
Other people do not have to change for us to experience peace of mind. Gerald G. Jampolsky
As we emerge into a new year, and a new world order, the words “hang on it’s going to be a bumpy ride” (Harry Potter or Bette Davis paraphrased) echo all about. However in our space, continuity is key. So too with activities promoting healthy bodies, healthy minds, and moments of enjoyment. To this end Kathleen’s activity calendar is busy, albeit, not as much so as Decembers. January is a time to slow down a bit from the hurried crush of December.
New Year’s Day strikes the right balance for all of this, Massage and Reiki, no exercise class, and sherry night!
The grocery shuttle will run on the 9th and 25th. The Gentleman’s outing this month will be to Canoe Cove Joe’s on the 19th and J.O.Y. will head over to Fish o Chips on the 26th.
An exercise class is offered in both buildings; Norgarden every Monday and two Wednesdays a month at 1200pm, and at The Peninsula it is offered every Monday and Wednesday at 11am. and did you know that residents are more than welcome to join the classes at The Peninsula or Norgarden, it doesn’t matter which building you live in!
Birthday Tea’s this month are on the 16th at The Peninsula and the 17th at Norgarden. The festivities kick off at 2pm. This is always a delightful occasion, and if it is your birthday and you want to bring a guest with you to sit at the head table, please let Kathleen know!
The 25th of January is Robbie Burns Birthday and thus is Robbie Burns dinner. Please dress up in your best Tartan and join us in the dining room at 5pm (both buildings) for drinks and hor d’oeuvres, and the ceremonial cutting of the haggis will occur at 530pm.
Please see below for more activities throughout the months. Please click on the calendar to enlarge it.
